Taxi drivers

taxiThe rules for taxi drivers are slightly different to those of bus and lorry drivers. The recomendation from goverment is that a taxi driver must meet the same standards as those of bus and lorry drivers. The local authority (council) determines what the medical consists of and who can do it so please check with your local authority to make sure that any registered doctor can perform the medical and not just your GP. You may need to get your medical history from your GP and take that with you to your appointment with our doctor.

How to arrange your medical

Simply book online or call 0370 383 0648 and we will arrange a location and time to suit you.

To confirm an appointment, payment will be asked for at time of booking using a debit or credit card.

We will then send you confirmation of time and location of your medical examination and instructions of what you need to take with you to the examination.

Your local authority will supply you with the medical form which they wish to be completed. They usually publish them on their websites so you will need to bring one with you to be completed.

If you are having a medical for a taxi you will need to provide the medical form. You must check your form before booking the medical, as some taxi forms specify you will need to see your own GP. Please note that if it states that the doctor needs to have access to your medical history, you will need to bring a copy from your GP surgery. You can also use the following link: www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/gps/gp-online-services to register and view your medical history online.
